The guest of honour today at GWR HQ in London was Lloyd Scott MBE, who was presented with his record certificate for Most steps climbed in an antique diving suit. Lloyd climbed 1,037 steps to the top of the 41-storey 30 St Mary Axe – aka The Gherkin – in the City of London, UK, wearing a 134 pound (60.7 kg) 1940s antique deep-sea diving suit complete with a copper
helmet.
Lloyd has raised an estimated £5 million as a charity fundraiser, taking part in numerous activities, including walking the London Marathon in his diving suit and wading the entire length of Loch Ness in Scotland underwater!
